My eggdrop.conf (didnt rename it like u) starts with:

set admin "Galadhrim <email...>"
set network "irc.quakenet.org"
set timezone "GMT"
set offset "-1"
addlang "english"

it contains information to startup and use the specified network and
nickname for IRC.

Your bot does not boot because you did not specify information that
tells the bot what name to use and where to to connect.
