Eggheads: channel settings

Hi eggdev,

What kind of channel flags system are we going to accept - everything 
being setting-value pair or we're going to have 1.6 style different 
kinds +/-setting, setting value, setting min:max, setting "string" ?

Looks like stdarg removed my code supporting latter choice with idea of 
implementing former. I plan on commiting the "setting value" choice in a 
few days so send your comments if you think against it.
